Her parents, siblings and paternal grandmother witnessed her joyful arrival into our lives. The name Abigail means source of joy and Abigail was our brightest source of joy. In spite, of her short time with us, Abigail taught us to live life fully, to create, to love each other, to smile mercilessly, and to care for those around us. Her creativity was sparked very young and by the age of six, had written her first full length poem. She continued to write, draw, and read, but also developed an aesthetic interest in fashion, music, and culture. Abigail attended elementary school at Midway and Intermediate and High School at Lorena and Hebron respectively. She was able to travel with her family to Germany, Macedonia, and the Dominican Republic, expanding her love of people and culture globally. She had just begun her studies at McLennan Community College, following in her three older sibling's footsteps and planned on attending University of Texas or Texas State thereafter. Abigail was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Faye and A.G. Russell; and her paternal grandparents, Norene and Joseph Wachsmann. She is survived by her mother, Sarah Russell; father, Patrick Wachsmann; siblings, Emily Wachsmann, Tricia Wachsmann, and Jack Wachsmann; and sister-in-law, Michelle Inmon Wachsmann. She is also survived by her nephews, Myer Reno and Jace Wachsmann; and niece, Keira Wachsmann. We will miss the fire in her eyes, the song on her breath, and the love she shared with us each day.
