Agnew O. Duckworth June 30, 1922 April 17, 2008 Agnew Duck Duckworth passed away Thursday, April 17, 2008. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2008, at Crestview Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2008, in the Garden Room at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Duck was born June 30, 1922, and grew up in Vernon, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force in World War II where he received a Purple Heart. He graduated from Baylor University in 1949. While at Baylor, Duck played on the Baylor Baseball team and participated in the 1948 College World Series. He was a general agent for Texas Life Insurance Company for over 50 years and a past president of the Waco Association of Life Underwriters; Texas Leaders Round Table and Baylor B Association. Duck was a Little League Coach for 16 years and more recently was involved with Waco Senior Golf League. He served for many years as a deacon, elder, and teacher at Columbus Avenue Church of Christ and for the past 34 years has been a faithful member at Crestview Church of Christ. Duck is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joy Fay Duckworth; two sons, Phillip and Robert Duckworth; one daughter, Sally Duckworth Lancaster; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
