Joe Cooper October 6, 1937 - June 4, 2015 Albert Joray Joe Cooper, Jr., of Waco went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 4, 2015. Services celebrating his life will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 8, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Rev. Ron Durham officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 7, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Joe was born October 6, 1937, in Corsicana, Texas, to A.J. and Bertie Loveless Cooper, Sr. He graduated from Waco High School in 1955 and attended Baylor University. On November 1, 1958, he married his high school sweetheart and best friend, Margaret Spiller. Joe joined the sales team with Sunbeam Corp. which moved his family to Ohio, Virginia, Illinois and Florida. With a change in careers, the family returned to Texas, finally settling in Waco where he became an active member and deacon of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church and First Baptist, Waco. He was very involved in his church activities and also in Leadership Waco. Joe spent his remaining career with the Scott & White Health Plan as the Waco Area Marketing Director. Before and after retirement, Joe enjoyed time with family and his passion for travel took him and Margaret all over the world, where he captured their experience through photographs and writing. Joe was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving, loyal wife and best friend of 56 years, Margaret; children, Carol Eubank and husband, Greg, of Georgetown, Allyson Stanley and husband, Jack, of Waco, Brad Cooper and wife, Kim, of Sugar Land, Texas, and Robyn Lyle and husband, John, of Pearland, Texas; grandchildren, Alyssa Lyle, Macy Eubank, Kendall Cooper, Jonathan Lyle, Maggie McGuire and Cameron Cooper; and many other beloved family and friends. The family wishes to thank Bluebonnet Hospice for their staff's care and concern for Joe. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors or St. Jude, both passionate charities of Joe's.
