Eugene “Gene” “Butterball” Medlin, 80, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2005. Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 10 at the Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel in Waco. Burial followed at Waco Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Medlin was born in Gatesville, Coryell County, Texas on May 24, 1925 to Benjamin and Effie McGlothlin Medlin. Gene attended the Purmela, McGregor and Gatesville school systems. About 1943, he joined Brazos Electric Cooperative in Belton, as a truck driver in the line crew. In 1962, he transferred to Waco where he was a system operator at Brazos until he retired in 1985 after 42 years of service. Gene was a member of the Baylor Masonic Lodge 1235 AF & AM. He was also a member of the Sun Valley Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Maxine McIntosh Medlin; sons, Colin Windham of Gadsden, Al. and Harry Windham of Houston; grandchildren, Lynne Windham of Montgomery, Al., Jaimee Windham Calhoun of Birmingham, Al., Tracie Windham Moreno of Fort Irwin, Ca., Jeffrey Ryan Windham of Mount Prospect, Il., Paige McCormick of Lincoln, Al. and Teryn Gaynor of Roanoke, VA.; and one great grandchild, Jasmine Moreno of Fort Irwin, Ca.
