GOTTBERG, ARMIN Armin Carl Gottberg died peacefully Tuesday, May 6, 2003. Services will be held at 10am Friday, May 9 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Donald Olson officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North. Arrangements are through Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Armin Gottberg was born in Larson, North Dakota to Rev. Charles and Rose Pomerenke Gottberg on November 12, 1914. In 1934, he entered Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis, Missouri and was graduated and ordained in 1938. He was married to Evelyn James on September 9, 1938. For the next 45 years, he served Lutheran parishes in Churdan and Jefferson, Iowa, Cheyenne Wells and Kit Carson, Colorado, Odell, Nebraska, Hoisington, Kansas and Beecher, Illinois. In 1985, the retired pastor and his wife moved to Waco, where he used his free time to write and publish a book on Revelation. He continued preaching the Word of God as a guest pastor and in Adult Bible Class until his health failed in 2000. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Carrollton; daughters, Nan Milanese and husband, Jack of Georgetown, Lois Gottberg of Aurora Colorado, and Judy Dolginoff of Carrollton; son, Tim Gottberg and wife, Amy of Mesa, Arizona; six grandchildren; three great granddaughters; sisters, Rae Rothe of Waco and Trudy Knoke of Tallahassee, Florida; and brothers, Al Gottberg and wife, Donna of Englewood, Colorado and Oliver Gottberg of Denver, Colorado. Armin left this world believing in a merciful God and the promise of eternal life. He will be sorely missed by his family and many friends. The family requests contributions to the scholarship fund at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waco, TX, in lieu of flowers.
