Avery Fernandez

FERNANDEZ, AVERY Avery Fernandez, age 11 months, of Waco died Monday, May 19, 2003 at his residence. Services will be held at 9:30am Wednesday, May 21 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Jeff Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. On June 9, 2002, we were blessed with a handsome three pound three ounce young man. We were allowed to nurse, nurture, and love Avery for 11 months and 10 days. He never fussed or cried but would look at us with his big brown eyes and we knew he would fight as long as possible. He survived many set backs from surgeries, infections and long months in Cook Children Medical Center, but he never gave up. On May 19th he left us but will always remain in our hearts and lives forever. Thanks to all who helped with prayers, encouraging words, donations, and caring for big sis, while we were away from her. A very special thanks to Brittni, Bradi and Sam for all their help. All our friends who worked so hard on the benefit held for Avery there are no words to say except “thanks”. Survivors include parents, Vincent and Nicole Fernandez of Waco; grandparents, William and Dorothy Lee of Chalk Bluff and Tino and Lupe Hernandez of Waco; aunts and uncles, Samantha Lugo-Principe and husband, Roberto, Melissa Jones and husband, Brandon, Jeannette Fernandez, Cedro Riggins, III and wife, Esther, Tony Fernandez, Tessa Slovak and husband, David, Deric Bramlett and wife, Sherry, and Jeff Richardson and wife, Donna; sister, Yazmine Fernandez of Waco and numerous cousins. Pallbearers will be Brandon Jones, Sr., Cedro Riggins, III, Deric Bramlett, and David Slovak. Honorary pallbearers are Roberto Lugo-Principe, William Paw Paw Lee, and Tino Hernandez.
