Bertha Agnes Hromadka April 15, 1919 - September 20, 2010 Bertha Agnes Hromadka, 91, of Waco passed away suddenly and peacefully Monday, September 20, 2010, at St. Catherine's Center. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 24, at St. Louis Catholic Church, where she was a charter member, with the Msgr. Mark Deering as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Rosary begins at 6 p.m., followed by visitation, on Thursday, September 23, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Bertha was born April 15, 1919, in Lockhart, Texas, to John and Annie Bienek, the eighth of ten children. She married her husband of 69 years, Nicolas J. Hromadka, on May 6, 1936, in San Antonio, Texas. She was a homemaker her entire married life and an Army wife for 22 years, living on Army posts in Wisconsin, Texas, Georgia, Maryland, Germany and France. The family came to Waco to make their retirement home. She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, her husband, and her daughter, Marie Ann Whiteside. She is survived by her son, Daniel Hromadka and wife, Patricia, of Waco; four grandchildren, Cindy Ann Hromadka, Marke Whiteside, Debora Carr, and David Whiteside; and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
