Billy E. Hardcastle

Billy E. Hardcastle December 13, 1931 - May 28, 2006 Billy E. Hardcastle of Waco passed away Sunday, May 28, 2006. Services will be at 11:30 am Wednesday, May 31 at Beverly Hills Baptist Church with Rev. Carrol Hambrick officiating. Burial will follow at Bruceville-Moore Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, May 30 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Billy was born December 13, 1931 in Cego, TX to Fred and Willie Mae Hardcastle. He and Kathryn Koepf were married on September 29, 1956 in Bruceville. He was in the US Air Force during the Korean conflict, a member of the Baylor Masonic Lodge #1235 and a deacon at Beverly Hills Baptist Church. He served for many years in the “bus ministry” of his church and was known as “Mr. Bill, the bubble gum man”. Billy retired from General Tire after more than 31 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kathryn Hardcastle, his daughter, Sharon Benson and husband, David; his son, Mike Hardcastle and wife, Teri; five grandchildren: Brian Benson and wife Jenny, Eric Benson, Chad Benson, Rachel Hardcastle and Nathan Hardcastle. Pallbearers are: Fred Blanchard, Craig Blanchard, Brad Blanchard, Tommy Benson, Kent Barnhill and John Lancaster. Honorary pallbearers are: Phil Barnhill, Dalton Bennett, Thomas Benson, Willard Barber, Charlie Hobbs, Kenneth Henager, C.H. Jackson, Grady Redden and Audaine Robinette. Memorial donations may be made to Beverly Hills Baptist Church, American Cancer Society or the charity of choice.
