GARRETT, BLANCHARD Blanchard Phillips Garrett, of Waco, passed away May 30, 2003. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, June 2 at Waco Memorial Mausoleum with the Rev. Kent Pate officiating. Burial to follow at Waco Memorial North. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 1 at Wilkirson-Hatch Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Garrett was born in San Augustine, Texas and moved to Dallas at an early age. She attended schools in Dallas and after graduation she was employed by Southland Life Insurance Company where she became Administrator of the Reinsurance Department. She married attorney, E. Doyle Garrett on November 11, 1953. He preceded her in death on November 11, 1985. Mr. and Mrs. Garrett moved to Waco in 1957 after living in San Antonio for a few years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waco, the McLennan County Bar Association Auxiliary as well as the Hamilton House. She was a volunteer for American Red Cross. She is survived by one sister-in-law, Mrs. Forest Harper of Odessa and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Waco at 300 Webster Ave., Waco, Texas 76706.
