BEATY, CALLIE OPAL Callie Opal Beaty, age 97, of Waco died Wednesday, December 03, 2003 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be held at 2pm Friday, December 5 at Waco Memorial North with Chaplain Curtis Holland officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 4-6pm Thursday, December 4 at the funeral home. Mrs. Beaty was born July 12, 1906 in Powderly, Texas near Paris to William Coleman and Edna Ann Roads Smyers. She attended schools there, moved to Paris, Texas and later to Houston, living there until 1961. She moved to Goldthwaite and was a resident there from 1961to 1974 and moved to Waco in 1974. She was a Lutheran. She attended Gleaners Sunday School Class at Western Heights Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Vernon Beaty October 1975. Survivors include sisters, Etta Theo Lee, Cleo Boone, and Norma Jones all of Waco; and nieces, Donna Cox and husband, Tom of Crawford and Sylvia Henderson of Arlington.
