Carole Hall January 20, 1949 - August 24, 2009 Carole Hall of Waco passed away Monday, August 24, 2009. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 27, at Crestview Church of Christ with Minister Jim Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Carole was born January 20, 1949 to Jennings and Billie Porter in Milan, Tennessee, where she lived until the age of eight before moving to Waco. She met Lloyd Hall in the fall of 1965 and they began "going steady" and later married on April 9, 1971. She graduated from Waco High in 1967 and from Baylor University in 1972. Carole worked at Citizens National Bank and then at Baylor University. She was a member of Crestview Church of Christ in Waco, where she made many lifelong friends. She was actively involved with VBS, mission trip training, her 2-year old Sunday school class, as well as various other ministries. She enjoyed reading, cross-stitching, working jig-saw puzzles and playing cards. She had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh, and spend time with family and friends to whom she was totally devoted. The holiday seasons and decorating for Christmas were some of her favorite times. Carole loved all things Baylor and enjoyed traveling back to her birth state of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her mother, Billie Charlene Porter. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Lloyd Hall; her father, Jennings JP Porter; son, Andrew Hall and wife, Triniti; daughter, Emily Hall; and son, Steve Hall and wife, Dawn; sister, Susan Hussey and husband, Jeff; mother-in-law, Gladys Hall; sister-in-law, Sandra Lavender and husband, Ronald; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. Pallbearers are Jeff Ellis, Jim Kersey, Lennie Lamb, Bill Litton, Johnny Norman, Greg Olson, Paul Olson, Jim Smith, Ken Willis and Eddie Wilson. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Bradshaw, Don Guest, Clyde Hart, Steve Hoag, Kim Mulkey, Garvis Shields, Steve Smith, Mickey Sullivan and Bill Williams. The family wants to express their thanks to Dr. Speckmiear and his staff at Hillcrest Midway; Texas Home Hospice; Visiting Angels, specifically one very special angel, Melissa Harbaugh; and the loving church family at Crestview.
