Charles Albert Boiles C.A. “went to heaven” after a long battle with cancer, Saturday, January 31, 2004, with his son and daughter at his side. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30p.m. Tuesday, February 3, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, with Rev. Stephen Ramsdell officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8p.m. Monday, February 2 at the funeral home. C. A. was born on January 7, 1937 in New Ulm, Texas. His parents moved to Waco in October, 1949. He began attending school during 7th grade at North Junior High School. He held the record in the 50 yard dash for W.I.S.D. for many years. The friends he made that year have remained very close and stood by him for 55 years. He graduated from Waco High in 1955. He attended Baylor University immediately after high school for a semester. He transferred to Tarleton State at Midterm to be with friends. He ran track for two years, was a member of ROTC, the Tarleton Collegiate Choir, and Tarleton Players Drama Club. In the spring of 1957, he joined and served in the Air Force for two years in Japan. He was an Airman First Class. In 1956, he went to work for Kizer Claims Service as a claims adjuster. On June 10, 1966, he married the love of his life, Brenda Roberson in Laredo. In July of 1969, they had their first child, Charlie Boiles. In 1968, he went into business for himself being an independent salvage vehicle dealer. He moved his family to Robinson in 1970 where he could expand his business. In 1973, they had a daughter, Shawntel Celeste Boiles. In 1978, the family lost their beloved wife and mother, Brenda, after a two year battle with Cancer. From then on, he continued his business buying and selling wrecked automobiles and anything else he could buy, making many life long business acquaintances and friends. If Dad wasn’t out trying to buy the bargain of the century, he was either thinking of, or on his way to the lake, which was his true passion. Dad would rather be at the lake with his friends than any other place we can think of. He is survived by son, Charlie and wife Stacey and kids, Blake and Brooke; daughter, Shawntel Boiles; sister, Orchid McQueen; precious pets, Calico, Ringo, and Bailey; and many, many wonderful supportive friends. Pallbearers will be Bill Miller, Jimmy Kizer, Clifton Robinson, Tommy Flood, Joe Flood, Kendall Click, Scotty Lenamon, and Dick Clark. Special thanks go out to M.D. Anderson Brain and Spine Center, Dr. Wayne and Kim Falcone, Dr. Jensen, and all those who visited him. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to M.D. Anderson Brain and Spine Center, 1515 Holcombe, Houston, Texas 77030.
