Charles Snyder April 5, 1923 – October 19, 2016 Charles “Chili” Snyder, 93, went to be with the Lord on October 19, 2016. A graveside military service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 24, at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2:00–4:00 p.m., Sunday, October 23, at Wilkirson Hatch Bailey. Charles Snyder was born in Bomarton, Texas, in 1923 to Charles and Vera Snyder. He grew up and went to school in Itasca before enlisting at the beginning of WWII. He married Catherine Collins in 1943, and after traveling the world while he was a pilot in the Air Force, he moved his family to Waco, where he retired as a Captain, and began working as a private pilot. Everyone who met him liked him and he never met a stranger. He loved his family and had a remarkable sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Cathy, the love of his life; his brothers, Gene and Louis Ray Snyder and wife, Marion; brothers-in-law, Wayne Collins and Scott Collins; and granddaughter, Elizabeth “Bitsy” Christal. He is survived by his daughters, Micki Bowman and husband, Bill, Inez Russell and husband, Bill, Cathleen Rozell and husband, Tom, and Becky Anderson and husband, Andy; his sister, Sue Yates and brother-in-law, Carl; sisters-in-law, LaMoyne Snyder and Lee Collins; brother-in-law, James Collins; fourteen grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
