Clair D. Weller April 26, 1914 – March 27, 2006 Clair D. Weller, age 91, passed from the loving care of his family into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at 8 PM Monday, March 27, 2006. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday March 30 from 7PM to 9PM at the Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home at 6101 Bosque Blvd. in Waco. Services will be Friday, March 31, at the Alliance Bible Church at 1:30PM with Rev. Richard Koskela officiating. Burial will follow at the Waco Memorial North Cemetery. Clair Dawson Weller was born April 26, 1914, to Robert Walter and Lulu Lillian Weller at St. Paul Park, Washington County, Minnesota. In 1924, he moved with his parents and sister, Nita Faye, and brother, Dayle, to Three Oaks, Michigan. In 1932, he graduated from Three Oaks High School where he met Frances J. VanderMeer. They were married August 23, 1940. He attended Wheaton College in Wheaton, Ill. and Bradley University in Peoria, Ill. From 1934 to July 1940, he was employed at the Warren Featherbone Company in Three Oaks as an Industrial Engineer. In July, 1940, he joined the accounting department of R. G. LeTourneau, Inc. in Peoria, Illinois, and in 1950, was transferred to their Vicksburg, Miss. plant as Division Controller. In 1955, he moved to their Longview, Texas plant as Director of Purchases. In 1960, he resigned from R. G. LeTourneau, Inc. to move to Waco, Texas where he and his wife, and their son Leon, founded Diesel Power Supply Co., a Detroit Diesel Engine and Allison Transmission Dealership franchised under Stewart & Stevenson Services, Inc. He enjoyed and cherished many lasting friendships with customers, suppliers, employees, and other business associates. He became Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Directors in 1995. From 1961 until the present time, Mr. Weller was an active participant in the Alliance Bible Church where he was a charter member and served in various teaching, music, administrative, and leadership roles. He was an Elder Emeritus at the time of his death. Mr. Weller served as a Trustee of LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas, was elected Trustee Emeritus in 1988, and has provided ongoing encouragement and support to many young people through the Weller Scholarship Fund which was established in memory of his parents. Mr. Weller had a strong faith in God, was a life-long student of the Bible, and was faithful in living a principled life based on its truths. Survivors include: Frances – his loving wife for 65 years; son, Leon Weller and wife Ann; daughter, Janet Grandlinard and husband Paul; daughter, Anita Vance and husband Jack; nine grandchildren - David Weller, Danny Weller, Ruthie Weller, Julie Vance, Kevin Vance, Jeremy Vance, Angela Grandlinard, Andrew Grandlinard, and Anthony Grandlinard and seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mr. Weller’s six grandsons. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts to the Alliance Bible Church, 7201 Country Club Drive, Waco, Texas 76710, or to the Weller Scholarship Fund at LeTourneau University, P. O.
