CLIETT HOOKER Cliett Alex Hooker, age 92 of Hillsboro, formerly of Waco, died Sunday, July 25, 2004 in Hillsboro. Services will be held at 1:30 pm Tuesday, July 27 at Waco Memorial Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. David Shuttlesworth and Waco Masonic Funeral Committee officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North. Mr. Hooker was born May 19, 1912 near Hillsboro to Sam Alex and Edna Hooker. He was reared and educated in Hillsboro. He married Maurine Duncan on September 8, 1934 in Hillsboro. He was a bus driver for Central Texas Bus Lines for 26 years. He later owned and operated Hooker Texaco Service Station before retiring. Mr. Hooker was a member of Geo. N. Denton Masonic Lodge #24 and Scottish Rite Bodies. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Hugh Hooker and sister, Marguerite Rice. Survivors include his wife, Maurine Hooker of Hillsboro; daughter, Evelyn Behringer of Fort Worth; son, Maurice Hooker and wife Beth of Dickenson; granddaughters, Kimberly Bynum and Tracy Hooker; great granddaughters, Kristin Craven and Brittany Bynum; sister, Mary Pickett and husband C.V. of Chandler; brothers, Leonard Hooker and wife Billie Ruth of Red Oak, Louis Hooker of Tyler and Billy Hooker and wife Barbara of Hillsboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
