Connie Rhodes

Connie Rhodes January 6, 1928 - February 19, 2007 Connie Rhodes of Waco passed away Monday, February 19, 2007 at Hillcrest Hospital after a brief battle with leukemia. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, February 22, at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 5–7 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Connie was born January 6, 1928 in Glendale, AZ to June Ray Callis and Marie Sexton. She and James Lamar Rhodes, Sr. were married in San Antonio on September 10, 1945. The most important aspects of her life were her family and her 42 years of Civil Service with the U.S. Air Force and Veterans Administration. She was preceded in death by James, her husband, of 58 years, her parents and brother, Sammy Callis. She is survived by son, Jimmy Rhodes and wife, Brenda of Waco; daughter, Linda Bloomer and husband, Danny of Austin; grandchildren: Kristen and Jamie Rhodes of Waco; Jonathan Bloomer and wife, Dora and great grandchildren, Mia Nichole and Justin Bloomer, all of League City; sister, Clydell Wiese and husband, Tom of Austin.
