Daniel “Dan” Hanus September 14, 1935 – July 12, 2006 Daniel Lee “Dan” Hanus, went to be with the Lord July 12, 2006. Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 15 at Woodway First United Methodist Church. Dan was born September 14, 1935 and graduated from Waco High School. He worked for Sears for over 40 years retiring in 1997. He was a member of Company K-143rd Infantry. Dan’s hobbies were racing, flying, hunting, fishing and building bird houses. He was a member of Evans Chapel United Methodist Church in Leona, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Matilda Hanus and grandson, Ime Hanus. His is survived by his loving wife, Louise Bray Clark Hanus; daughters, Melanie Hanus Ferguson and husband, Dennis of Lorena and Elizabeth Anne Hanus of Waco; son, Bryan Lee Hanus of China Spring; stepdaughters, Carrie Leathers of Centerville, Linda Shannon of McGregor and Debbie Spooner of Tomball; stepson, Edward Clark of Huntsville; sisters, Flo Clay and husband, Bill of San Antonio, Rosemary Spence of Waco and Lucy Drury of Corpus Christi. He is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the local American Cancer Society or the Scott and White Hospital Hospice.
