Denise Elaine Cortez November 25, 1961 - August 2, 2014 Denise Elaine Cortez of Waco passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014, at St. Catherine Center. Denise was born November 25, 1961 in Las Vegas, Nevada, to Everett and Carolyn Meredith. She was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her mother, Carolyn Herrick, of Nice, California; two sisters, Terri Meredith and Shelli Cabral, both of Nice; three daughters, April McGaughy and husband, Micah, of McGregor, Texas; Heather Ballou of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and Nicole Cortez of Petaluma, California; and two grandchildren, Abigail McGaughy and Sophia Ballou.
