Doris L. Pewitt

PEWITT, DORIS Doris Pewitt, age 81, of Waco died Thursday, February 27, 2003 at a local nursing facility. Graveside services will be held at 11am Saturday, March 1 at Waco Memorial North with Dr. Joe Loughlin officiating. Arrangements are through Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Pewitt was born April 16, 1921 in Bastrop County, Texas to Selma Emma Mary Lehnick and Vince Thomas Frank Veselka. She attended Bastrop High School and graduated from Baylor University. She was a teacher in the public intermediate schools. She married Boyd A. Pewitt, Jr. They had one son, Boyd Pewitt, III on June 29, 1952. She was preceded in death by her husband on February 9, 1990. Survivors include son, Boyd A. Pewitt, III of McGregor; and sisters-in-law, Myrtle Pewitt of Manitowoc, Wisconsin and Olivia Pewitt of Metairie, Louisiana.
