Dorothy Pearl Bischoff January 2, 1929 – November 15, 2010 Dorothy Pearl Bischoff, formerly of Waco, passed away November 15, 2010 in Sugar Land, Texas. A Memorial Service will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 18, at Waco Memorial Mausoleum. She will be in state beginning late Wednesday afternoon. Dorothy was born January 2, 1929 In Temple, Texas to Mae & Dan Hodge. She married Fred W. Bischoff on August 23, 1947 in Temple, Texas. After earning her B.S degree from Mary Hardin Baylor, Dorothy moved to Cleburne, Texas, and taught in the Joshua Independent School District. She was an active member of Anglin Street Methodist Church. She and her family moved to Waco in 1964 and she continued teaching for an additional 20 years at Crestview Elementary. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Austin Avenue Methodist Church, the Garden Club and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary Burdett of Austin, Vern Chaffin of Temple and brother, Daniel Hodge Jr. of Austin. She leaves behind her husband of 63 years, Fred Bischoff; her daughter, Connie Mae Tomlin and husband Alan of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Hillary Bennett and husband, Jeremy, of Sugar Land, Texas, Kyle Horne and wife, Christy, of Houston, Texas; and the joys of the last few years of her life her great granddaughters Kylie Mae and Lainey Rebecca Bennett. She also leaves behind her incredible caregivers, Rosie Chavez, Christina Aguilar and the entire Greatwood Retirement Community in Sugar Land. Dorothy/Mom/Grandma will be missed by all who loved and cared for her. Memorials may be made to Austin Ave. United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
