November 28, 1918 — July 14, 2001

EDWARD LEE BEHELER, 82 of Elm Mott died Saturday, July 14, 2001 at a local hospital in Waco. Services will be at 11:30 AM Tuesday, July 17, 2001 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd, the Rev. Darrel Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at White Rock Cemetery in Ross. Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 PM Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Beheler was born November 28, 1918 in Elm Mott, the son of the late Quincy Cleve and Nettie Arnold Beheler. He married the former Hattie Heine on September 19, 1942 in Onset, Mass. He was a World War II veteran as a member of the Co. M, 36th Div, 143rd Inf. He was awarded a Purple Heart for his service, which included 18 months as a prisoner of war. He was an employee of the Veterans Administration Regional office for 33 years, retiring in 1978. He was an active man with many hobbies and interests. He traveled the world making movie and television appearances and meeting many interesting and famous people as a President Jimmy Carter look-a-like. He was an avid golfer and loved spending time with family. Survivors include his wife, Hattie Beheler of Elm Mott; two sons: William Beheler and his wife Sherry and James Beheler and his wife Donna all of Elm Mott; five grandchildren: Kim Rankin and her husband Russ, Scott Beheler, Darrin Beheler, Bradley Beheler and Ashley Canady; and two great grandchildren Katelyn and Alyssa Rankin. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Elm Mott United Methodist Church Building Fund or the White Rock Cemetery Association. WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY
