Ellen Susan Grimes

Ellen S. Grimes. 104, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017, of natural causes at the Providence Hospital in Waco, Texas. She will be buried in Huntington, West Virginia, in the family plot. No services will be held in Waco. She was born in Palestine, Texas, on December 2, 1912, to Thomas and Mary Carey. She lived with her son, Thomas Grimes, in Woodway, Texas. Her husband, Leonard K. Grimes, preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, James R. Grimes and Dana, Thomas Grimes, Ellen Grimes Strohmeyer and William E., and William Grimes and Janet; grandchildren, Michael and Beth Strohmeyer, David Strohmeyer; William and Anne-Lise Grimes, Jeffrey and Rebecca Grimes; Kristen and David Rutherford; Carey and Jason Roland; Jason and Mary Beth Clark, and Andrew Grimes; and great grandchildren, Spencer, Kyle, Coby, Alex, Ben, Caroline, Katy, Shelly, Brooke, Ava and Emma. In lieu of flowers the family request donations in her memory be made to local or national animal shelters and protection agencies.
