Evelyn Hoffman June 9, 1923 - August 4, 2011 Evelyn Hoffman, known fondly by her family and friends as "The General" for her ability and dedication to organize communal and family event, passed away August 4, 2011. A chapel service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 5, at Congregation Agudath Jacob, 4925 Hillcrest Dr., in Waco, with burial following in Agudath Jacob Cemetery. Rabbi Aryeh Feigenbaum and Rabbi Gordon Fuller will co-officiate. Evelyn excelled in Mitzvos, for her generosity, hospitality and champion of social causes. She will be joining her husband, Nathan. They were recognized as "America's Sweethearts" at the turn of the new Millennium. She will be missed by many. Evely is survived by her children, Madelyn Hoffman Finkelstein and husband, Ira, Sheryl Fishman Carroll and husband, Reese, and David Hoffman and wife, Hagit; brother, Kenneth Giniger and wife, Bea; sister, Renee Feingold and husband, Norman; grandchildren, Sarah Finkelstein, Maya Fishman, Seth Fishman, Jonathan Hoffman and wife, Tali, and Hila Sosnow and husband, Simi; and great-grandchildren, Jonas, Lucas and Sara Rivka.
