Faye Scott Draper-Neumann April 12, 1916 – January 9, 2007 Faye Scott Draper Neumann died Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at the age of 90 in Houston, Texas, leaving those who loved her dearly. In accordance with Faye’s wishes, no services will be held in Houston, Texas, but will occur in Waco, Texas, where she will join her beloved husbands and parents for burial. Services will be at 11:30 am Friday, January 12 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 7:00 pm Thursday, January 11 at the funeral home, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Being an incredible mother and grandmother would truly define her life, as she spent many hours taking her children and their friends to weekly fun adventures and then caring for her grandchildren. Those who ever knew her, even shortly, will always remember Faye for her dynamic and unique personality. Faye’s journey of life began on April 12, 1916 as the first child of Fred and Thelma Scott. She spent a happy childhood in Mart, Texas along with her sisters Lynette and Syble. In 1936 she married Leonard Draper, who was her husband for almost fifty years. They had three children, Leonard Eugene Gene Draper, Cynthia Faye Wells and Glenda Gayle Torres, who grew up in Waco and Houston, Texas. After Leonard’s untimely death in a car accident, she again met her high school boyfriend, Edwin Neumann, and they were married for over twelve years, alternating houses between Waco and Pearland, Texas. Upon Edwin’s death, she moved to Pearland, Texas where she had many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Thelma Scott; two adoring husbands, Leonard Edwin Draper and Edwin Neumann; her sister, Lynette Humes; and her beloved son, Leonard Eugene Gene Draper. Faye is survived by her daughters, Mrs. Joe Cynthia Wells of Pearland, Texas and Mrs. Hector Glenda Torres of Dunedin, Florida; a step-daughter, Carolyn Williams of Waco, Texas; daughter-in-law Barbara Draper of New Braunsfels, Texas and her sister Syble Jermstad of Riesel, Texas. Her grandchildren include Mark Draper of San Marcos; Scott Draper of Colorado City; Michael Draper of Houston; Kristen Wells Schlacter of Houston; Tiffany Torres Horsman and Karissa Torres Glover of Dunedin; Ginger Torres Rose of Shady Spring, West Virginia; Melody Torres Scudiers of Dunedin; Olivia Torres of Dunedin; and Trent Williams of Waco, Texas. She also leaves sixteen great-grandchildren, who were always proudly pictured on every available surface of her residences.
