Florence Evelyn Nowell June 9, 1919 - July 6, 2012 Florence Evelyn Nowell of Dallas, formerly a long time resident of Waco, passed away Friday, July 6, 2012. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 9, at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Leslie Ann King officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 8, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Florence was born June 9, 1919 in Bentonville, Arkansas to Ira and Margaret Sweeney. She was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church in Waco. Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Carl T. Nowell. She is survived by son, John Nowell of Dallas, TX; nephew, Robert Sweeney and wife, Libby of Blair, NE; and a number nieces and nephews from her late husband's family. Florence was widely known among family and friends for her skill with flowers, particularly iris; her extraordinary creativity in the world of crafts; and her life long love of cats.
