Floye Hood Powell January 26, 1912 - February 27, 2010 Floye Hood Powell of Waco passed away Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Ridgecrest Retirement Center. Burial will be in Brownsville, Tennessee on Saturday, March 6. She was born January 26, 1912 in Memphis, Tennessee. Floye has been a lifelong member of the Brownsville United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, James William and Mattie Vernon McNair Hood; and her husband, William Horne Powell. She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Ann Powell Lewis and husband Dr. Donald Lewis of Waco, TX; grandson, William Scott Lewis and wife, Katherine of Dallas; granddaughters, Dr. Rebecca Lewis Kelso and husband, Jim of San Antonio; Bethany Lewis Badeaux and husband, Lee of Waco; great-grandchildren, Will, George and Charlotte Lewis, Emily and Rebecca Badeaux, and John and Katherine Kelso; sisters, Rebecca Hood Freeman of Jackson, TN and Angeline Hood Batchelor and husband, LeRoy of North Palm Beach, FL.
