Frank Joe Ermis February 17, 1916 - August 25, 2014 Frank Joe Ermis of Garland/Waco passed away Monday, August 25, 2014 at his home in Garland due to natural causes. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 4, at Waco Memorial Park, 6623 S. Interstate 35, Waco, Texas. Born February 17, 1916, in Cameron, Texas to Charles and Philopina Ermis, he served in the Army Air Force during WWII as an airplane maintenance technician. He enlisted September 18, 1940, and was honorably discharged on October 30, 1945, as a Staff Sergeant. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Agnes Morgan, they married July 21, 1944; brother, Anthony Ermis; son, Charles H. Whitmire; daughter-in-law, Eleanor Roppolo Whitmire; and granddaughter, Catherine Whitmire. Frank is survived by his niece, Anthia Ermis Morse and her children, Matthew Morse, Kelly Morse and Allison Hensley; grandchildren, Charles Joseph Whitmire and Mary Whitmire Gravley; five great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.
