Freddy A. Duron, Sr. March 5, 1937 - June 29, 2010 Freddy A. Duron, Sr., of Robinson passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at his residence. Mass of Christian Resurrection will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 2, at St. Louis Catholic Church with the Rev. Tim Vavarek as Celebrant. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m., and Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 1, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Freddy was born March 5, 1937, in Waco to Atanacio and Josephine Duron. He was reared by his Aunt Narcissa Duron and his family and educated in Waco. Freddy began his career in the auto glass industry as a teenager, was with Russell Judson Auto Glass for 22 years; and in 1979, he formed his own company under the name of Freddy's Auto Glass and Mirror, Inc. He received the Business Man of the Year Award from the Cen-Tex Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Texas Glass Association. He was known and respected by the glass industry peers throughout the country. He participated in the Waco Boys Club under the leadership of the late Mr. Louis Gonzales, and was a member of the Waco Missions and also the Waco Missions baseball team. He was an avid golfer, a founding member of the Pan American Golf Association, and coached the Northern Little League ball teams. Freddy was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Freddy will be well remembered as a loving son, brother, husband, father, especially a devoted grandfather, a friend to all and a mentor to many who sought his advise. His devotion to his loving wife of 52 years, Dolores, is an example to many couples. He and Dolores were childhood sweethearts since the 3rd grade. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Dolores Ann Duron of Waco; sons, Freddy Duron, Jr. and wife, Frances, Russell Duron and wife, Angela, David Duron and wife, Leasa, and Rodney Duron and wife, Priscilla, all of Waco. Also surviving are his grandchildren are Amanda, Nicholas, Christine, Olivia, Taylor, David II, Austin, Freddy III and Amelia; and his sister, Carol Duron of Waco. Pallbearers are Robert Benavides, Marcus Duron, Rudy Duron, John Duron, Joe Filoteo, Jr., Stephen Sanchez and John Garcia. Honorary pallbearers are Julian Duron, Sr., Guadalupe Duron, Marciano Duron, Ernest Gaiton, Felipe Sanchez, Jr., Victor Fuentes, Porfirio Duron and Gilbert Quintanilla. Special appreciation goes to Drs. Gary Barbin and Michael Attas for their excellent care; to hospice nurse, Pat Hathaway and to Providence Hospice for their assistance in Freddy's transition.
