OBITUARY FOR GLORIA FIRMIN Gloria Clarice Quillin Firmin WACO – Gloria Clarice Quillin Firmin, 78, of Waco, died Sunday, November 24, 2002, at Providence Hospital in Waco. A Memorial Service will be held at 3pm on Wednesday, November 27, 2002, in the Garden Chapel of Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Firmin was born January 30, 1924, in Fouke, Arkansas, to Eugenia Coker Quillin and Joseph Quillin. She married George Treher Firmin in Miller County, Arkansas in April of 1945. They remained married until the death of Mr. Firmin in 1992. She co-founded Firmin Business Forms with her husband in 1954 until her retirement in 1976. She was also a Licensed Vocational Nurse who worked in both Providence and Hillcrest Hospitals as well as for several local physicians and was active in several Bridge clubs in the area. She was a member of the Ladies Golf Association of Ridgewood Country Club and WIC. She spent a number of retirement years in the Lower Rio Grande Valley before returning to Waco. Gloria was preceded in death by her mother and father, two brothers, Albert and Fred, and her husband. She was a loving mother to and is survived by her children, George T. Firmin, Jr. and wife Sally of Waco, Gene Firmin and wife Marsha of Hewitt, three Grandchildren, Laura Levine and husband Michael of Houston, Shawn Firmin and wife Amanda of Fort Leavenworth, KS, Melinda Firmin, of Waco, Whitney Firmin of Hewitt, and Mark Firmin of Waco. She is also survived by one Great-Grandchild, Ryleigh Faith Firmin of Fort Leavenworth, KS along with several nieces and nephews. It would be her fondest wish for Memorial Gifts to be made in her name to either The Waco Humane Society Animal Shelter or Fuzzy Friends Animal Rescue of Waco.
