GONZALEZ, GONZALO G. Gonzalo G. Gonzalez, age 76, of Waco was called home Wednesday, March 12, 2003. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Saturday, March 15 at St. Louis Catholic Church with the Rev. Monsignor Mark Deering officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North. Rosary will be recited at 6:30pm Friday, March 14 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. Melvin Dornak officiating. Mr. Gonzalez was born December 9, 1926 in Williamson County to Gonzalo Reza and Juanita Gonzalez. He was a veteran of W.W. II, serving as a master sergeant in the U.S. Army with the 8th division in Germany. He served in the Texas National Guard after W.W.II. He married Elvira Fernandez October 14, 1944. She preceded him in death October 8, 1984. He was also preceded in death by his parents. He retired from Hack Branch Distributing Company. Mr. Gonzalez was formerly active in The American Legion, past president of G. I. Forum and SMM De Jornaleros and former vice president of the Federation of Mutualista Societies of Texas. He was also formerly active in LULAC and Waco Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Survivors include daughters, Gloria Torres and husband, Joe of Waco, Dolores Lemke of Euless, and Yolanda Gonzales of Keller; sons, Gonzalo Ralph Gonzalez and Sharon of Austin and Richard Gonzalez of Rogers; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; sister-in-law, Rita Young and husband, Charles of Hewitt and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Dallas Burke, Marc Gonzales, Steve Gonzales, Michael Montoya, Dennis Long, Michael Eggers, Tony Pena, and Robert John Huerta.
