Gordon Summers

Gordon Summers passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 28, at Richfield Christian Church with Rev. Alec Ylitalo officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at Richfield Christian Church. Gordon was born July 31, 1943, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Dr. Frederick and Louise Summers. Gordon was educated at Stephen F. Austin University with a degree in forestry. He worked as a project manager at Spaw-Glass in Houston. He supervised the construction of a Toyota plant in Kentucky and an airport in Puerto Rico. He enjoyed all outdoor activities. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Sandy Summers; a brother, David and wife, Cynthia, of Comfort, Texas; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Lee Helm, Jr., of Woodway, Texas; a brother-in-law, Gary Helm and wife, Carla, of Hewitt, Texas; two nephews; and two great-nieces.
