WALLACE, HAROLD E. PETE Harold E. Pete Wallace, 77, of Waco died Tuesday, October 15, 2002 at a local nursing home. Services will be held at 11:30am Thursday, October 17 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. Pamela Dykehouse officiating. Burial will follow at Wortham Bend Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm Wednesday, October 16 at the funeral home. Pete was born June 15, 1925 in Wortham Bend. He graduated from Academy High School. He served 2 ½ years in the Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. He was in the Naval Reserve for 17 ½ years, retiring with 20 years service. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 34 years, retiring in 1986. He spent several years after retirement working part-time for Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. He married Lorene Locklin Morgan September 9, 1948. He was a member of Lake Shore United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Wallace in February 2000, his parents, Ernest and Ethel Wallace, and his brother, Bobby Wallace. Survivors include children, Michael D. Morgan and wife, Barbara of Rockwall, Teresa Dickenson and husband, Dale of Waco and David M. Wallace of Dallas; grandchildren, Drew and Jarrod Dickenson, Shonna Barber and husband, Brian and their children, Joshua, Jacob and Janessa Barber and Renee’ Morgan and sister and faithful lunch companion for the past several years, Lillian Carpenter.
