Hazel K. Nesmith

March 1, 1929 — February 23, 2004

NESMITH, HAZEL K. Hazel K. Nesmith, age 74 of Waco died Monday, February 23, 2004 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 2pm Friday, February 27 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Krupicka officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm Thursday, February 26 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Mrs. Nesmith was born March 1, 1929 in the Norse Community in Bosque County to Joseph V. and Ollie Mae Sather Kilstrom. She graduated from Waco High School in the Class of 1946. She attended 4-C Business College and had continuing education classes at MCC. She married Stanley D. Nesmith August 21, 1948. She was an artist and floral designer and was presently a part-time receptionist at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Mrs. Nesmith was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and Order of the Eastern Star McLennan Chapter #639 where she was a past worthy matron. She had also served in many grand chapter appointments. She belonged to Waco Porcelain Art Guild, China Painters of Texas and International Porcelain Artists Organization. Her love was porcelain art. Survivors include husband, Stanley D. Nesmith of Waco; sons, David Joseph Nesmith of Franklin, Pennsylvania and William Howard Nesmith and wife, Cynthia of North Little Rock, Arkansas; grandchildren, Keri Rose Nesmith and Cassie Joan Nesmith; sister, Wanda Kilstrom of Waco; brother, Wilford Kilstrom and wife, June of Irving; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be employees of Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Honorary pallbearers are Obert Aga, Ralph Aga, Lloyd Aga, Alton Aga, and Margaret Aga and G.G. and Marge Ross.
