Helen Hensel September 21, 1929 - April 15, 2014 Helen Hensel of Waco passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014, with loved ones at her side. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 18, at First Evangelical Church with Bro. Richard Rust officiating. Burial will follow at Closner Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 17, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Helen Marie Elizabeth was born September 21, 1929, in West, Texas, to Elnora and John Roth, Sr. She married Edgar Hensel on March 15, 1949, in Burlington, Texas. They began their married life together in Waco. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother Gakki, aunt and friend. In addition to being a wonderful homemaker, she worked for 40+ years in various accounting positions in Waco businesses. Helen was a member of First Evangelical Church in Waco. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Edgar, in 2012. She is survived by her two children, Steve Hensel and wife, Brenda, of McGregor, and Gayla Sauls and husband, Gary, of Hewitt; four grandchildren, Holly Russell and husband, Cary, and Wesley Sauls and wife, Allie, all of Houston, and Erik and Dillon Hensel of McGregor; one great grandchild, Lew Cameron Russell; one brother, John Roth and wife, Betty; and nephews, Clay and Chase Roth, both of Marietta, Georgia. Pallbearers are Erik Hensel, Dillon Hensel, Wesley Sauls, Cary Russell, Clay Roth and Chase Roth. The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff and our friends at Stoney Brook of Hewitt, Royal Manor II and Southern Care.
