JACKSON, HELEN Helen Marie Jackson, 78 of Waco, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at St. Louis Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Mark Deering officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Helen Jackson was born October 19, 1924 in Waco. She will be remembered for her keen sense of humor and Texas pride. She always told her children they were “Texans first” and they should never forget that. Except for short periods of time, she spent her entire life living in Waco. In 1942, she married J.H. Gunn who was killed in a military accident in 1952 leaving her with 2 small children and pregnant with a third. In 1954, she married Robert Bob Jackson and had a fourth child. She is preceded in death by both husbands, daughter, Patricia Gunn Barrett and brother, Buddy Jackson. She is survived by sons, Mike Gunn of Mesquite and Robert Jackson, Jr. of Austin; daughter, Terri Gunn of Garland; sisters, Sandra Dennis of Elk and Suzi Jackson of Bellmead; brother, Don Jackson of Bellmead; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Wayne Leggott, Tom Masengale, Terry Stringer, Terry Ford, Don Tatum and James Barrett.
