Hilda Gene Turner October 14, 1922 - December 1, 2006 Our beautiful and gentle mother passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Friday evening, surrounded by her family. We grieve our loss but are thankful for her Christian life and the promise He has given us of Eternal Life. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2006 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Gene was born October 14, 1922 in Comanche, TX to Verdo Harmon Fergurson and Myrtle Fergurson. She graduated from Comanche High School where she was a cheerleader, twirller and a member of the basketball team, and was a graduate of a Dallas Business School before beginning her career as a secretary. She was employed in the State Legislature Offices, served as church secretary at Western Heights Baptist Church and retired as a secretary for Waco Independent School District. She was a lifelong Baptist and a faithful member of Western Heights Baptist Church for 46 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, James W. Turner, her cherished youngest child, Ronald Timothy Turner and her brother Don Fergurson. She is survived by daughter, Sherry Tusa and husband, Leonard of Waco; son, Gary Turner and wife, Sharron of Sarasota, Florida; daughter-in-law, Marti Turner of Waco and her brother Herman Fergurson of Ft. Worth; five grandchildren, Craig Tusa, Christine Tusa, Tamara Romano, Cameron Turner, and Dylan Turner and three great-grandchildren, Spencer Parrett, Cameron Turner, Jr. and Ashton Turner. Our family is grateful for the dedicated service of these: Providence CHF Clinic, Pacemaker Clinic and the Staff of 3 South. You brought her encouragement and comfort and we are thankful for each of you. Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association and Fuzzy Friends Rescue.
