Horace I. Tipps April 11, 1910 – February 3, 2006 Horace I. Tipps passed away Friday, February 3, 2006 at his residence. Services will be at 3:30 p.m., Monday, February 6, 2006 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Bosque Chapel with the Rev. Darrell Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Whiterock Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, February 5, 2006 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Horace was born April 11, 1910 in Scurry County, TX to William P. Tipps and Beulah Tipps. He moved to Elm Mott in 1922 where he graduated from Elm Mott High School. On December 8, 1929 he married Inez White. He served in the Army Medical Corp during World War II with the majority of his enlistment at McCloskey Military Hospital in Temple. He owned barber shops in the Waco area for many years, including the Lake Air Barber Shop, which opened in the new Lake Air Shopping Center in the early 60’s. He is survived by his daughters, Jo Ann Willingham and husband, Harlan, and LaDene T. White, and husband, Wayne; Son, Mac Tipps and wife, Deborah; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren and his sister Maude Gaston of Buffalo Gap, Texas.
