Howard C. Tucker January 10, 1938 - March 27, 2016 Howard Clyde Tucker of Waco passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016. Graveside services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 5, at Waco Memorial Park, with Rev. Michael Moore officiating. His memorial services will follow at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Wilkirson- Hatch-Bailey. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Monday, April 4, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Howard was born January 10, 1938, in Olney, Texas, to Clyde and Ora Tucker, who preceded him in death. He graduated from Lubbock High School, and then Howard Payne University. He continued his education at Sam Houston, earning a masters and then later a doctorate in education from Baylor University. He earned the rank of Captain in the U. S. Marine Corps and served from 1960-1965. He married Judy Harris in 1966. In his 37 years as an educator, he held many different roles, retiring to Waco in 2002. He was a member of many service and community organizations over the years, and after his retirement enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels, playing golf, dominos and spending time with friends and family. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Robinson. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Judy Tucker of Waco; daughter, Kelli Vann and husband, Ray, of Robinson; sister, Lois Swindle of Lubbock; mother-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and their families and many close friends he dearly loved.
