Ida Mae Collins October 25, 1913 – September 14, 2006 Ida Mae Collins, 92, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2006, at her home. Services will be at 3:30 pm Tuesday, September 19 at Wilkirson Hatch Bailey Chapel with the Reverend Pamela Dykehouse officiating assisted by Reverend Linda Wimberly and Msgr. Tom Frank. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, September 18 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Wilkirson Hatch Bailey Funeral Home. Mrs. Collins was born October 25, 1913 in Waco, Texas to Jerry and Dovie Autrey. She attended Waco schools where she met and later married Guy M. Collins who preceded her in death. As a life long Waco resident, she touched the lives of many people starting with those at Herring Avenue Methodist Church where she and Guy were members. They belonged to the Couples Class for over 50 years. In addition to her full time job as a homemaker, wife and mother, Ida Mae also worked for many years at the Baylor Book Store. Her greatest joy came from vacations with family and friends. She was the hostess for the Saturday party at her house where she especially enjoyed the company of her children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers and anyone who was connected to the family. She will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her. She is survived by her son, Mick Collins and wife, Cathy of Waco; her daughter, Virginia Collins Farley and husband, John Michael of Arlington; and grandchildren, Dan Collins of Washington, D.C., Sarah Collins of Portland, Oregon, Austin Farley of Arlington and Alana Farley Berger of Arlington. Pallbearers will be Mick Collins, John Michael Farley, Michael Austin Farley, Dan Collins, Alana Farley Berger and Sarah Collins. Memorials may be made to Lake Shore United Methodist Church.
