James Edward Langford of Hewitt passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 19, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 18, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. James was born March 19, 1946 in Marlin, Texas to J.E. and Annie Langford. He graduated High School in 1964. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University in 1968. After a brief stint at Firestone Tires, he began his career at Texas Farm Bureau Insurance in 1969. During his time at Farm Bureau, James held many different roles, and rose through the ranks eventually serving as Vice President-Compliance, Regulatory and Governmental Affairs until his retirement in 2009. He stayed active by teaching insurance classes at Baylor University. Most recently he served in the Texas Automobile Insurance Plan Association (TAIPA) Office of Austin, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by one son, Jason Langford and wife, Brandy, of McGregor, TX; two grandsons, Jackson and Jacob Langford; one brother, Ray Langford, of Houston, TX; and a nephew, Ron Langford, of Houston.
