Jan Dehm January 30, 1941 - September 15, 2013 Janice D. Dehm of Waco passed away peacefully, Sunday, September 15, 2013, at her home surrounded by family. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 20, at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Coston officiating, followed by a private family burial. Visitation will be 5:00 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 19, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Jan was born January 30, 1941. She served in the U.S. Air Force as a nurse from 1959-1963. She married her beloved husband, Sam Dehm, on July 12, 1968. Together they raised four children. Jan was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church since 1968 and devoted her life to service. Her true passion was serving the elderly and the homebound. She led a Sunday school class for senior citizens and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Jan recently published a book, a compilation of her years of Sunday school lessons, which were often mailed to her homebound friends. Jan was fun-loving and a free spirit who was willing to give of herself unselfishly. She enjoyed working in her yard, oil painting and being a mother, wife and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Scruggs and Evelyn Hunter Scruggs Collins; and her husband of 30 years, Sam Dehm. She is survived by her children, Regina Dehm Carter of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Brian Dehm and his wife, Lindy, of Crawford, Lisa Dehm of San Antonio and Catherine Jung and her husband, Tim, of Johnson City; nine grandchildren, Whitney Crow, Blake Tipton, Timothy and Hannah Robertson, Ashley and Austin Dehm, Sammy Dehm, and Grayci and Hope Jung; and two great grandchildren, Presley and Paisley Crow. She is also survived by her sisters, Linda K. Lain of Mineral Wells, Texas, and Victoria Collins, of Fort Worth, Texas; brothers, George Collins and wife, Lieu, of Marble Falls, Texas, Bruce Collins of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Mike Collins and wife, Rissa, of Little Rock, Arkansas.
