CHANNON, JIMMY Jimmy Humpy Channon, 69 of Moody, died Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at his residence. Services will be at 1:30pm Saturday, August 14 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Harley Gordon and the Rev. Ivan Ker officiating. Burial will follow at Itasca Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6:30-8:30pm Friday, August 13 at the funeral home. Mr. Channon was born June 26, 1935 in Itasca, Texas to Robert Bill and Nora Channon. He lived in Waco from 1955-1999, when he moved Moody. He retired from the City of Waco after 28 years. He married Sue Lewis April 28, 1961, they were together 42 years. He was very active in Northern Little League Baseball and coached his son for several years. He loved his family and especially his grandchildren, who made him happy and were the light of his life. He was a member of Beacon Hill Baptist Church. He was truly blessed to have a loving and caring pastor and church family. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert Channon, Jr. and sister, Shirley Taylor. Survivors include his loving wife and caregiver, Sue; son, Jimmie Channon and wife, Karen and grandsons, Cole and Case; daughter, Debbie Channon Casper and husband, Paul and grandson, Jimmy Don and granddaughter, Ashley, also one daughter by heart, Jane Hale and husband, Randy, and Brandy and Randi Sue and brother, Harvey “Buster” Channon and brother-in-law, Harold Taylor and several nieces and nephews.
