BALLARD, JOHN John S. Ballard, 85, of Waco, passed away, Saturday, November 29, 2003 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be 11 am, Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Nygard officiating. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 pm Monday, December 1, 2003 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mr. Ballard was born August 4, 1918 in Big Spring, Texas to the late Claude Ballard and Nova Scotia Hickman Ballard. He graduated from Forsan High School. He served in the US Army during World War II. He lived in Waco for a number of years working for William Cameron Company, then moved to Menard, Texas in 1962 where he worked for Burkes Lumber Company. He moved back to Waco in 1996. He was a Methodist. John will be dearly missed by each life he touched so closely. He was preceded by three sisters, Zellah Walker, Mildred Smith and Klydie Scudday and one brother, Milton Ballard John is survived by close family members: Sally Little and husband Jack, Charlie Sullivan and wife Pauline, Betty K. Evans and husband Ronnie, Dan Bryant and wife Paula, Carl Bryant and wife Cathy, Mike Bryant and wife Stephanie, Brad Bryant and wife Michelle, LaRue Robertson, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
