Lawrence Edwin Hennig December 31, 1921 December11, 2009 Lawrence Edwin Hennig of Waco passed away Friday, December 11, 2009. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m.Tuesday, December 15, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, December 14th at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Lawrence was born December 31, 1921 to Richard and Emma Behnke Hennig in the community of Womack. He was christened April 16, 1922 at Zion Womack. He entered the Army Air Corp and served on active duty in WWII in five campaigns. He received four metals. Upon his return from the war he obtained employment at General Tire where he retired after working 38 years. He married Corene Johnson Jan. 17, 1947 and was married for 62 years. He was an avid gardener, as well as husband, father and friend to all he met. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his wife Corene Hennig; daughter, Lesa Ann Lenart; two grandchildren Amber Leibold, Michelle Miller, both of Waco; sister Ruby Carpenter and many nieces and nephews.
