Lela Carson August 4, 1940 - April 27, 2006 Lela Carson of Waco passed away Thursday, April 27, 2006 at her home. Graveside services will be at 9:30 AM Saturday, April 29, at Waco Memorial North Cemetery with Dr. Scott Walker officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday, April 28, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Lela was born August 4, 1940 in Freestone County to William Aubrey and Lillie Mae Comer. She graduated from Waco High School in 1958 and was a bookkeeper for 46 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Carson and her parents. Lela is survived by her daughters, Terrie Calabrese, Misty Carson and granddaughter, Tristen Calabrese of Waco. She is also survived by siblings and spouses, Sarah and Charley Curry, Elloise Comer, Juanita and Harry Peckham, Elaine and Henry Brooks, William and Susan Comer, Travis and Gale Comer. Lela was loved and will be missed by numerous family members and many friends. Pallbearers are Charley Curry, Denis Comer, Chris Calabrese, B.J. Taft, Jimmy Price and Willie Bowen.
