Lucille Tonahill Holder July 16, 1923 February 7, 2014 Lucille Holder, 90, of Waco, passed away Friday, February 7, 2014, at Providence Hospice Place. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. Lucille was born July 16, 1923, near Whitney, Texas, to Jim Albert and Winnie Jones Tonahill. She graduated from Whitney High School in 1941. She married W.W. "Bill" Holder on July 4, 1943, in Ft. Worth. They had 64 happy years together before his death on December 24, 2007. They lived in Mart for six years before moving to Waco. They spent their summers for many years camping in the Colorado Rockies, where they made many lifelong friends. Lucille was a devoted and caring homemaker who loved to cook and care for her family. She worked part time for Waco Independent School District for twenty-four years. She was a long time member of Robinson Drive United Methodist Church. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband. She is survived by her son, Jim Holder and wife, Carol; daughter, Linda Sandhoff and husband, Ross Jr.; grandchildren, Ross 'Trey' Sandhoff III, and Lori Gammage and husband, Charles; great grandson, Lucas Gammage; and sister, Wanda Waits of Ft. Worth. Special thanks to the staff and caregivers at Regent Care of Woodway. They have made her feel so at home for the last five years. She made many wonderful friendships there staff and residents. Many thanks to Dr. Clark of Providence Hospital and to Providence Hospice for their loving care of our mother and their ministry to us. There is no way to express the gratitude we feel for the 'special angels' we met at Providence Hospice Place. Such astounding compassion from Dr. Schwedock, nurses and CNA's. What a blessing they all were to see that our mother passed in dignity, comfort, and peace. Much appreciation and thanks to all of them. Memorials may be made to Robinson Drive United Methodist Church, 2801 Robinson Dr., Waco, Texas 76706, or the charity of your choice.
