Margaret Grant Hunt April 25, 1910 – December 17, 2005 Emily Margaret Grant Hunt, 95, of Waco, passed away Saturday evening, December 17, 2005, surrounded by her family and friends at a Waco nursing facility. Funeral services will be at 3:30 pm Wednesday, December 21 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Bosque Chapel with Rev. Van Ballew officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday, December 20 at the funeral home. . Mrs. Hunt was born April 25, 1910 in Aquilla, Texas to Milton Pierce and Addie Clyde White. She married William Isaac “Teanie” Grant on November 25, 1926 in Aquilla. They moved to Waco in 1942 shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Teanie preceded her in death in 1953. She and Teanie were members and officers of the International Order of Oddfellows and a lifetime member of F. M. Compton Lodge, Morris Daytime Lodge, and Bellmead Rebekah Lodges of Waco. She served as Noble Grand and District Deputy Noble Grand numerous times and was very active in the Degree of Honor. She was honored with a 50-year Rebekah Lodge Member Award in 1999. She worked for Thompson Drug, Monnigs Department Store, Wood Manufacturing Company and retired from Texas Retail Grocers Association in Waco in 1978. She was a volunteer for the Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center Auxiliary and a dedicated volunteer for the McLennan County Democratic Party. She was honored in 2003 by Baylor University and featured in a video documentary produced by KWBW about the Waco tornado in 1953. A lifelong lover of music, she sung with the Baylor University “Singing Seniors” for a number of years under the direction of Dr. Ewell Porter. In 1967, she married her childhood friend Joe Hunt. He preceded her in death in 1977. Being fully aware of her longetivity until the end, she retained her strong senses of humanity and humor. She will be fondly remembered for her love of family and friends, her dedicated church life and her beloved Rebekah Lodge, and the constant care and compassion for her family and friends. She was preceded in death by both husbands, her parents, two sisters, Joyce Corrie of Dallas, Mildred Miller of Aquilla; two brothers, Milton Pierce “Mick” White, Jr. of Farmers Branch, John White of Aquilla; and son in law, Robert Heath of Waco. She is survived by her brother-in-law, G.W. Corrie of Dallas; her children, daughter Jean Romesburg and husband Don of Pasadena, Texas; son, James Milton “Jim” Grant, Sr. and wife Jan of Waco; daughter, Sarah Dudik and husband Alvin of Waco; and daughter Glenda Heath of Waco. Grandchildren, Rodney Jack Owens, Sr. and wife Brigitte of Riesel; Donna Roye and Kim Romesburg Woodson of Pasadena, Texas; James Milton “Jimmy” Grant, Jr. and wife Aida of __________, Mississippi; Wade Heath and Blake Heath of Waco; Laurinda Heath Wilkerson and husband James of Waco; and Tony Dudik of Stephenville, Texas; 20 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and great and great-great nieces and nephews and countless Rebekahs and friends and a special friend, Maria Olivo.
