Marie Dorothy Vrba July 1, 1926 - May 13, 2015 Marie Dorothy "Ruby" Vrba of Waco, Texas, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 19, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waco with the Rev. Joseph F. Geleney, Jr., as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery in Tours. Rosary will be 6:00 p.m., and visitation will follow, Monday, May 18, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Marie was born July 1, 1926, in Tours, Texas, to John and Mary Uptmore, the 9th of 10 children. Marie and Frank Vrba were married on November 23, 1946, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waco where she continued as a faithful member. She was a homemaker and mother to five children and worked more than 10 years at St. Mary's school cafeteria. Because Marie was unable to complete her formal education as a youth, she earned her GED as an adult. She loved hummingbirds, flowers, reading and working jigsaw puzzles, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. While later in life she enjoyed traveling, Marie was happiest being home. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank John Vrba; son, Jeffrey Frank Vrba; and several brothers and sisters. Marie is survived by her four daughters, Darlene Hamlin and husband, David, of Waco, Jacqueline Rhodes of Waco, Sherry Edenfield and husband, Rick, of Valley Mills and Carla Garcia and husband, Roy, of Ross; grandchildren, Brian Hamlin, Aaron Vrba and wife, Ashley, Katie Edenfield, Denise Kalina and husband, Chris, Alicia Hernandez and husband, Lawrence, Miranda Traylor and husband, Brad, Jessica Ficker and husband, Michael, and Reece Edenfield and wife, Jaime; great grandchildren, Gavin, Marshall and Kelsey Vrba, Rylee Lowe and Cason Hamlin, Joe and Justin Kalina, Darryan Meyer, Matthew and Lillyan Hernandez, Reagan, Juliet and Zachary Traylor, Heaven and Hayden Moltzer and Dalton Edenfield; and great-great grandson, Jude Kalina. She is also survived by two sisters, Josephine Curry and Ernestine Kaluza. Pallbearers are Aaron Vrba, Brian Hamlin, Virgil Uptmore II, Virgil Uptmore III, Shayne Cheatham and James Haigood.
