Marilyn Vivrette Wells December 25, 1918 - December 11, 2009 Marilyn Vivrette Wells, affectionately called "Maudie" by her children, passed away on December 11 in Tyler, Texas. There will be a grave-side service at Waco Memorial Cemetery at 11:30 AM, Tuesday December 15. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Walter Johnson Wells. Marilyn was born on Christmas Day, 1918 to Leo & Stella Vivrette in Beaumont, Texas. She graduated from Beaumont High School in 1936, and married Walter Johnson Wells, a West Point graduate and career Army officer, on June 29, 1940. Marilyn & Walter, and their four children lived in many different places around the world, before settling in Waco in 1964. She moved to Tyler, Texas in 2004 and resided there until her death. Her life as a military wife inspired great grandson Alec Fojtik to name her as the bravest person he knows, in an elementary school essay. She was a devoted, loving, Christian wife and mother. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, three sisters, and one grand daughter. She moved to Tyler, Texas in 2004 and resided there until her death. This much-loved Matriarch is survived by two daughters, Carol Wells Dalgleish & husband Glenn, Barrington, IL; Shelley Wells Judd, Tyler, TX; and two sons, Walter Johnson Wells Jr. & wife Rose Ann, Tampa, FL; and Dennis Brendan Wells & wife Shellee, Oklahoma City, OK; and by 18 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
