Martha Sykes Temple December 14, 1913 - April 9, 2006 Martha Sykes Temple Mrs. Thomas Davis Temple of Waco passed away Sunday, April 9, 2006. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Chuck Treadwell officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Martha was born December 14, 1913 in Waco, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Lambdin Edmond. She was married to Davis Temple in 1947 and they lived in Dallas for 30 years, returning to Waco in 1977. Mrs. Temple was a graduate of Waco High School and the University of Texas where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity. She was a charter member of the Junior League of Waco and was active in the Dallas League during the years she lived there. In Dallas she was a member of the Church of the Incarnation and served on the Altar Guild there for 30 years. She was a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames of America and St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Waco. She was preceded in death by her husband who died on February 20, 2005 and by numerous cousins. Pallbearers are John Thomas Davis, Donald Davis, Jack Burgess, Hal Stringer and Alexander Sandy Haw.
